Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in a workshop, classroom or other training environment other than assessing competence in a work environment. Basically this qualification combined all assessment course units (Understanding level, Competence and vocational level) the objective of the qualification is to support a role in the workplace,

These include Level 3: Understanding the principles and practices of assessment (Unit 1), Level 3 Assessing occupational competence (Unit 2) and Level 3 Vocational skills, knowledge and understanding (Unit 3) – This certificate level consists of all 3 units

Guided learning hours?

The total qualification time for this qualification is 150 hours and of this 84 hours are recommended as guided learning hours. No mandatory class room attendance required.

Assessment method

This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence.

How to write portfolio at Level 3:

At Level 3, you will be required to explain, describe and summarise teaching and learning concepts. Level 3 requires end. of unit referencing.

It has been designed to be completed by 3 Days depending on past experience and personal capabilities / competence.

Qualification overview and objective:

Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment is a knowledge-only award for those who are starting their journey as an assessor, or those who need to know about assessment practice but are not currently practising.

Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment
Assessing Competence in the Work Environment is for practitioners who assess the demonstration of competence in a work environment using the following assessment methods: observation/examining work products/oral questioning and discussion/use of witnesses/learner statements/Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Award in Assessing Vocational Related Achievement
Assessing Vocational Related Achievement qualification is intended for those who assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the work environment (for example a workshop, classroom or other training environment). It includes the following assessment methods: Assessments of the learner in simulated environments, Skills tests, oral and written questions, assignments, projects, case studies and recognizing prior learning.

For Distance Learning:
The distance learning course is done at your own pace with a Tutor’s Support & Guidance. This programme involves self-directed study, e-learning, workshops and one-to-one tutorial. This course is delivered on Blended learning style (You will start this course with distance learning). All necessary materials will be sent to you by Special royal mail delivery once you book the course. The entry requirement for this course is the basic functional skills (Numeracy, Literacy, ICT). However, we recommend the distance learning course for Individual’s with competence or experience. Once you book this course, you will be given up to 12 weeks to complete the assignments. During this time you need to assess to candidates. However If you finish earlier, you will be awarded early (You do not need to wait for up to 12 weeks).
